For the third year I have been visiting Ekoworkshop... Does it make sense?

28.9.2021… Another ordinary day, the same as the other days, nothing special. But looking back on it, I realize that this day opened the door to a whole new set of possibilities – it was the first time I had the opportunity to experience for myself what Ekoworkshop is really like. From the very beginning I was aware that Ekoworkshop would definitely not be just another ordinary circle to fill my free time with. I knew that Ekoworkshop was something much bigger.

And I wasn’t wrong. From the beginning I felt a great enthusiasm every time we had a class together where I had the opportunity to realize myself. I gained an incredible amount of new knowledge, experience and knowledge that I will remember for a very long time. I was able to meet new people and build strong friendships that last to this day.

When the first year of Ekoworkshop ended, I didn’t hesitate and signed up for the second year of Ekoworkshop. When that one ended, I signed up for the third one as well, because I felt it made a lot of sense to continue. During the three years, not only did I soak up knowledge and information like a sponge (which went into my head pretty much on its own thanks to the way the lecturers taught), but I also had the opportunity to work on practical stuff, which I see as a huge plus.

The best experience from Ekoworkshop is definitely the educational stay in Croatia with the Blue World Institute. It was here that I realized what is truly meaningful in my life, what fulfills me and what I want to pursue. I also had the opportunity to give talks and open my own Ekoworkshop at my school, which overcame my fear of speaking in front of people. I have experienced beautiful trips such as Ecocamp, Ecoconference, excursion to the Silent Valley, ornithological observation in Drienovac and many more.

For all the unforgettable experiences, experiences and knowledge I am extremely grateful to my lecturer Saška. Thanks to her helpful and kind approach to us, the students, she has become a huge role model for me. She gives us opportunities that we just can’t find somewhere else, for which I am extremely grateful to her. Ekoworkshop lit a spark of intrinsic motivation in me – that’s why I still enjoy continuing to do what I do. It has shown me a path, but one that I no longer have to take on my own.

Hello 🙂 My name is Miriam and I study at the Secondary Vocational School of Pedagogy in Bratislava. I have been attending Ekoworkshop since my 2nd year in high school, which has helped me a lot in finding myself and thanks to it I found out what I really enjoy, find fulfilling and what I really want to pursue. I am fascinated by nature and everything around it. That is why my studies at university will continue in this direction. Other than that, I love reading books and educating (either myself or others). I love spending time outdoors with my dog Benny, we are a match made in heaven 🙂
